Señora Cartera Knows Handbags Better Than She Knows Her Husband!

Do I really know handbags better than I know my husband? Perhaps this is an exaggeration. Well, now that I think about it, is definitely not an exaggeration. Which is not to say I don't know my husband. Of course I do. I know he loves Star Wars. Volleyball. Indie movies. Organic juices. Tolkien books. Raspberry shakes. You get the idea. The thing is, while I know him I am constantly amazed by all the new things I learn about him almost on a daily basis. Thankfully this is not the case with handbags.

When I spot a brand new handbag in a store I make a beeline to grab this new wonder. I touch her, feel her, inspect her for faults and formulate my judgments before I settle her back in her place. We all do this. It's like reconnaissance. By the time I walk out of the store I have a clear picture of this bag and catalog it in my mind. She will remain there for all time. She will not change and develop a split personality or something. She will be the same for me today as she will be in 5, 10, 20 or 50 years from now. If you don't believe me, just think about all the iconic handbags that have transcended time. Louis Vuitton Mono Speedy, Chanel Classic Black Flap bag, Hermes Birkin bag...see what I mean - they never change. Thank goodness. In this crazy, ever-changing world, we gals (and gents) can count on these handbags to remain the same. Then again, even beautiful girls get a makeover every once in awhile and so can a handbag icon.

What can Mrs. Handbag do? What can any of us do? Just go with the flow and fall in love with them all over again.
