Chanel Fall 2007 Collection: Great Bags, Weird Clothes

Conjure up an image of the typically tweed-clad Chanel woman impeccably dressed and carrying a classic flap bag. Now picture this same Chanel handbag-toting woman on crack! It seems Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel's head designer, is tweaking Coco Chanel's classic look for todays' modern woman. Uh, Karl, haven't you heard the old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? I personally do not care for the overall Chanel look, but I certainly respect its' elegance and iconic appeal. It seems the "tweaking" was confined to clothing only. Whew! Thank goodness. With the exception of an absolutely stunning black chain mail-accented flap bag, the collection offers strictly traditional Chanel handbags.

I agree with you about the clothes. I like the bags, but what is there not to like they are pretty much the same year after year.
