Louis Vuitton Fall 2007 Collection: Predictable Focus On Accessories

Louis Vuitton is better known for handbags and accessories than clothing. So it was no surprise that in this collection clothes took a back seat to LV's bread n' butter - bags! Marc Jacobs, LV's head designer, brought the show to life when the 'goodies' made their debut. There were plenty of monogrammed bags. Some were a bit plain with patent leather trimming. Other bags, mainly slouchy clutches crafted from quilted leathers and adorned with a plethora of gold tone hardware, were pushing the envelope of classic LV design. A few handbags were complete departures from the basic LV formula. Structured bags trimmed with sheep's fur or accentuated with multiple studs rounded out a surprising and refreshing collection. My personal favorite was a simple black clutch/wristlet with minimal hardware. Ah, sheer perfection. Me thinks this handbag collection will be a major seller for Louis Vuitton. Now that's no surprise.
