Kate Spade WWII Painted Canvas Satchel

All great handbags have an interesting story behind their design. Take the Kate Spade WWII Painted Canvas Satchel for instance. Ms. Spade was inspired to create this line of satchels by the WWII soldiers who painted their bags in an attempt to ease the process of identification of the dead or injured in the battlefield.

Measuring 13 x 11.5 x 1.5, the 'WWII Painted Canvas Satchel' is made from hand-painted, heavy cotton canvas with vachetta trim and features a single vachetta-wrapped rope shoulder strap, rusted, antiqued hardware, double buckle closure, exterior dual slide pockets, and lined interior with zip pocket. It's a great, whimsical bag inspired by
the American spirit - I love it!

Available in three fun, painted designs (Pictured), the Kate Spade WWII Painted Canvas Satchel can be purchased for $399 via Zappos Couture.
