Versace Zipper Tote

As I browsed through the latest on-line handbag arrivals, I nearly slipped off my swivel chair when I came across the Versace Zipper Tote. "Versace designed this bag?", I asked myself. My astonishment should be understood by all who are familiar with Versace's spring 2007 handbag collection. Over-the-top designs with garish embellishments heaped on top of each other. I cringe just thinking about it! Mercifully, the Versace Zipper Tote is, well, quite beautiful.

This tote's ample (16 x 13.5 x 5) classic frame and amazingly subdued elements make for sheer handbag sophistication. Crafted from smooth leather with strategically placed gold-tone hardware, the 'Zipper Tote' features double top handles with ring inset and push-lock detailing, dual zip top closure, front zip pocket, two rear zip pockets, small front logo plate (no Medusa-head plate!), dual side strap with ring inset detailing, and silk-lined interior with zip, pouch and slit pockets.

The more I look at the Versace Zipper Tote the more I see the art of handbag design still alive and well. Whew! Let's hope Versace continues along this path. Be sure to nab this elegant tote if the $2480 via Saks Fifth Avenue price tag doesn't shock you more than the fact it was designed by Versace.
