Chloé Heloise Shoulder Bag

I've been eying the Chloé Heloise Shoulder Bag for a week, and the more I look at it the more annoyed I become. There is such a thing as knowing when to stop, but the folks at Chloé weren't present at design school that day. Not that the 'Heloise' is a complete distaster, ladies.

Distressed red leather with brushed, gold-tone hardware serve as a stunning backdrop for a lovely design. The pleated front, tabbed sides, and touches of light blue trim make the 'Heloise' a standout. The three-compartment (two open outer pockets and main zipped center compartment) concept makes it practical, but those dreadful braided top handles are the bags' undoing. In fact, the handles are such a distraction that the 'Heloise's' aformentioned fashionable and fresh attributes fall by the wayside. At 14 x 11 x 7, this shoulder bag could have been great, but now it's just merely tolerable. Sad, very sad indeed.

Are you in the market for a failed attempt at handbag greatness? If you are, then pre-order the Chloé Heloise Shoulder Bag for $1525 via Neiman Marcus. I would join you but I just can't get past those handles. Darn, I'm annoyed again!
