Fendi Shearling Shopping Chef Bag

OK, that's it! What are they smokin' over at Fendi? Seriously! If you've had the distinct pleasure (not!) of previewing Fendi's Fall handbag collection then you know all is not well in the land of Fendi. I'm all for experimenting with new shapes and materials, but what is the appeal in this particular Fendi hag bag? Let's analyze the horror that is the Shearling Shopping Chef Bag for a moment.

We begin with an ivory, diamond-patterned knit exterior (innocent enough) followed by shearling detail with decorative beading along the bag's bottom half. Uh, nope. I don't think so Fendi. Are today's fashionistas meant to appear as Little Bo Peep or some other sheep herder for that matter? Uhh. Let's continue, shall we? Brown rolled leather top handles with brass rings, brown leather trim, dangling cut-out brass logo charm, open top, and lined interior finish off a bag whose target audience eludes me.

I left, of course, the best for last. Brace yourselves because I almost fell out of my chair when I read the price - $5040 via Neiman Marcus! Yes, that's right, $5040. As I asked earlier, what do they put in the water, air, or cigarettes over at the House of Fendi?!?!
