Prada Chevron-Quilted Nylon Dome Bag and Hobo

I'll admit nylon handbags are "not my bag, baby" (I love quoting Austin Powers, sorry). Most of the time they seem cheap and very unattractive. Prada's nylon handbag line has fallen victim to this inevitable nylon disaster more often than not, so imagine my delight when I came across the Italian fashion house's fall season nylon handbag offerings. The Chevron-Quilted Nylon Dome Bag and Hobo are such lovely, well-designed bags that I can scarcely allow myself to believe they're actually made from nylon!

First up is the Nylon Dome bag which stands out with its quilted exterior, gold chain/leather shoulder straps, gold-tone zip top/combination lock closure, and logo fabric-lined interior with zip and patch pockets. Measuring 14.5 x 10 x 6.5, this Prada handbag will fit almost everything you can think of and look fabulous while doing it. For $1190 via Neiman Marcus the Chevron-Quilted Nylon Dome Bag is a bit pricey, but well worth the splurge. Available in prugna and nero (both shown).

Not to be outdone by the previous offering is the Nylon Hobo. Though not as flashy as the Dome Bag but just as surprisingly chic, the quilted exterior design is all the detailing this hobo needs. Gold-tone hardware accents play off the clever patent leather shoulder strap and signature front logo while the nylon-lined interior with zip pocket helps maintain the Chevron-Quilted Nylon Hobo's lower price tag. Available in nero and indigo (both shown) for $690 via Neiman Marcus.
