Marc Jacobs Mercer Peet Leather Tote

Looking for a chic, slouchy tote with a few fun design twists (literally speaking!)? Search no further than the Mercer Peet Leather Tote. I love the soft calfskin leather which lends itself perfectly to the overall relaxed design. It's refreshing to see Marc Jacobs attempt something less serious for his signature line. Most of these more youthful designs have been relegated to the MARC collection, but it seems he's learning his lesson that, if done the right way, a good thing can become even better. Instead of resorting to his stand-by quilting or patchwork techniques, Jacobs' keeps this tote fairly simple while using a few design twists, or knots, on the bag's top handles. Gold-tone hardware accents the cream-hued maple tote. Additional features including a loosely cinched open top with a hidden magnetic closure and push-lock detailing, front zip pocket and lined interior with large patch pocket are just the touches that propel this design past ordinary and straight into fabulous. Measurements are a 13 x 14.5 x 5 - very roomy indeed.

The Mercer Peet Leather Tote is available in black, but the maple color is a better fit for this resort collection design and will transition well into spring. Pre-order either version for $1150 via Saks.
