Celebrity Style: Versace Puckered Leather Hobo

Celebrity photos via Celebutopia

What do Britney Spears, Halle Berry and Jessica Biel have in common? Well, unless Halle Berry dated Justin Timberlake at some point, nothing but a handbag - the Versace Puckered Leather Hobo to be exact. These beautiful ladies are in love with this intriguing design and toting it all over Tinsel Town. Runway bags are always sought after and mostly limited in production, but sometime even we poor saps can score one.

This leather hobo is not my particular cup of tea (although the sea green runway version is gorgeous), but it's still a design worthy of discussion. The bag's main attraction is a "puckered" gathering effect throughout its' leather exterior which makes it both funky and unique. The hardware is kept to a respectable minimum (rare for Versace nowadays) with the exception of two large medallion-like logo plates on either side, a large gold-tone metal clasp attached at the end of a braided shoulder strap and small stud detailing adorning the front and back exterior. The tasseled zip top closure is a popular embellishment that can be distracting on most bags, but surprisingly appropriate on this hobo.

The Versace Puckered Leather Hobo is sold out on-line, and I was told not to expect new stock to come in. If you really have a hankering for this $3440 design, contact your local Versace boutique to track one down. I'm fairly certain it'll be a tough one to get, but don't be disappointed for long. I'm sure another overpriced designer bag will come around soon enough.
