Bottega Veneta Spring 2009 Collection: Playing It Safe

Bottega Veneta is synonymous with many things - elegance, effortless style and, of course, woven 'intreciatto' handbags. Their Spring 2009 Collection has all of these things I mentioned. There are plenty of lady-like pieces for the more conservative woman, flirty frocks and chic jumpsuits for the consumate fashionista and several woven handbags for the hard-core BV bag collector.

I'm always hopeful BV will shake things up a bit by experimenting with their handbag designs. I adore the sophistication of their woven handbags, but variety is the spice of life. There are signs that this Italian leather goods powerhouse is stretching its' creative legs a bit. The intreciatto bags were re-interpreted in shades of yellow, green and brown to form either more intricate designs or less busy exteriors. So there are bags that will appeal to everyone depending on their handbag style. You can always count on Bottega Veneta to create the best designer handbags in their undeniably classic style yet still provide us with a few surprises.
