Valentino Cassis Couture Bag

Words cannot do justice to the utter beauty of the Valentino Cassis Couture Bag, but since this is a blog dedicated to reviewing handbags I'll give it a shot. Where to begin? Well, let's state the obvious - the berry color, one of this fall's hottest trends, is positively stunning. I could stop right there and be done with it, but there are so many things "right" with this design I can't stop gushing.

The 'Couture' silhouette, one of Valentino Garavani's final contributions to his namesake label before retiring, is an elegant throwback to the classic handbags of the 40s and 50s. It measures a roomy 15 x 12 x 6.5 which means it'll fit all your essentials with ease. The braided top handles and basket-weave detailing along the front and rear only strengthen the bag's appeal. However, for me, it's the suede exterior that truly sets this design apart from the rest of the pack.

The Valentino Cassis Couture Bag begs to be touched and carried with pride. If you can appreciate a handbag masterpiece, then this is a definite 'must-have' for your collection. You'll treasure it long after berry colors are "out" and suede is once again passé.

Available for $1895 via Saks Fifth Avenue
