For fall, YSL created the Totem Bag in classic leather as well as ostrich and crocodile. As you can well imagine, the exotic finishes are very expensive. The leather version which is available in black is priced at a relatively reasonable $1595. The ostrich 'Totem' which is done in a stunning purple hue called African violet climbs to a rather steep $5495 (it's ostrich, though, so that's to be expected. The most expensive of all the Totem Bags, the crocodile version done in both black (pre-order) and dark turquoise, comes in at a whopping $17,950. Although some of the 'Totem' versions are priced far outside most women's budgets, this is the kind of bag that will become a staple for years to come and attract a core audience of collectors that look forward to seeing the seasonal renderings of their favorite bag. So, ladies, add yet another YSL bag to your list of must-have bags.

3 Responses to "Yves Saint Laurent Totem Bag"Thanks Dania, this bag is simply chic and beautiful and one I am seriously considering, except for my fear of how easily it may scratch. Have you seen this bag in person and/or do you have any thoughts on that? Thanks! gail
I've only seen the ostrich in person (fabulous!) I would assume that the leather version although described as "textured" leather is susceptible to scratching more than tougher leathers. I'll do some investigating and update the post as soon as I have an answer.
Thanks Dania. Hate to bother you again, but with regards to the one you saw, what is the interior like? Also, it appears you can really only hold this in your hand or in the crook of your arm? The exotics are out of my price range, but I am seriously considering the black leather. Thanks!
