Spotlight On.....Samsāra Handbags

Earth Day is behind us but that doesn't mean we can't continue our journey toward awareness. Handbag lovers are especially blessed to have more and more environmentally and socially responsible options available to them. Last week I wrote about Matt & Nat. This established and respected designer label produces some of the chicest handbags around. Now the creative mind behind Matt & Nat, Inder Bedi, is launching his latest accessories endeavor - Samsāra.

Samsāra, which means rebirth in Sanskrit, is a collection of vegan accessories created with the goal of affecting change on a local as well as global level. One dollar will be donated to a non-profit organization of your choice for every bag sold. This year, Samsāra has selected four causes - International Aid, Animal Welfare, Women's Issues and the Environment - that shoppers can choose from to send their donated dollar to.

Not only are Samsāra accessories Eco-friendly and socially responsible, they're also well-made and relatively inexpensive. The Winkler Pebble Clutch and Vaughan Pebble Hobo (pictured) are simple, utilitarian and stylish bags. No bells or whistles on these designs, ladies.
