Celebrity Style: Julia Roberts Does Marni Fall '09

I've been keeping a close watch on the web scouting out sightings of my favorite picks from the Fall 2009 collections. Just yesterday I featured the Jimmy Choo Blythe Satchel which is now available for pre-order through LUISAVIAROMA.COM. As luck would have it, I stumbled upon a photo of Julia Roberts in NYC last week carrying my absolute favorite, "must-have" bag for fall. Ms. Roberts was photographed with a Marni leather tote from Consuelo Castiglioni's fall '09 collection.

This upcoming crop of bags from Marni are sheer perfection. They're modern, retro, bold and sophisticated all at once. How Castiglioni managed to achieve this harmonious union to create such a constrained and refined handbag collection is a testament to her artistic genius.Julia is carrying a taupe version of the white/black tote I featured last month. We can expect to see the tote as well as a similar satchel, tobo (part tote/part hobo) and clutch in white, black, taupe, grey and blue. The contrast piping used throughout the design isn't merely for decorative purposes. It serves to accent the retro, geometric designs in a subtle and elegant manner.

The neutral color palette will integrate nicely into any wardrobe and work well throughout the entire year. I don't have pricing information yet, but I'm working on it. I'll post an update as soon as I have more details. Julia is one lucky woman enjoying such career perks as getting her hands on a fabulous designer bag before the rest of us poor schleps can;-) Shop Marni's current on-line sale with most bags at least 40% off.
