Michael Kors Zuma Satchel

After my whirlwind reconicense mission yesterday, which included the Chanel Fall '09 trunk show, I have a slew of new as well as older styles to recommend to my loyal readers which I'll be featuring over the next few days.

The majority of bags featured on Señora Cartera and Señora Cartera On A Budget are designs I've had a chance to inspect in person. I'm always hesitant to give my stamp of approval on something unless I've had it in my hands, but sometimes, especially when dealing with upcoming seasonal bags, it's pretty much impossible to do so. Then there are instances when I see a bag in a store and walk right past it without even a second glance. I'm guilty of breaking my own cardinal rule when it comes to handbag shopping - never dismiss ANYTHING! Hold a bag, carry a bag, fill it up with your stuff and walk around with it. Only then can you really say a bag is not worth your time or money.

I happened to make this mistake with the Michael Kors Zuma Satchel some time ago, but decided to give it a second chance yesterday. I'm so happy I did because it's exactly the sort of bag that fits my daily handbag requirements and does it with an unexpected dose of style. Neiman Marcus has a shiny bronze version of the Zuma Satchel available for pre-order ($995) for those of you that like their bags to pack a bit of a punch. The 14.5 x 11 x 5.5 satchel has flat top handles that fit nice and snug over the shoulder. It also features a dual zippered top which, in my opinion, is the most practical closure you can ask for on a satchel. The "knots", however, really make the design stand out for me. They're not only decorative but they also give the bag a slouchy shape that keeps it looking casual and cool. I tried on the white version at the MK store and loved it, but I have a major metallics obsession going on right now so the bronze version is calling my name. If shiny leather is too much for you to handle, there's a basic black leather rendition also available for pre-order thru the Michael Kors website.

Ok Dania, I will admit that I love the color of this bag, but I'm having a hard time getting used to the gathered slouchy look. It is unique, I'll give it that, and I think if I were to see it in person, I would probably love it. It is one of those bags that is just really hard to make a decision on without having it in hand. I'm glad you got the chance.

I echo your sentiments, Tami. It's one of those bags that photos do no justice. Once I tried it on, I knew it was fabulous. The bronze version I featured is expected in MK stores soon> It's definitely worth taking around for a spin ;-)
