Who says Bottega Veneta is the only label capable of doing intrecciato-patterned bags? Miu Miu didn't think so, and this gorgeous tote is proof of their vision. The fact that Miu Miu bags are traditionally less expensive than their sister label counterparts is a huge plus, and, in this case, a quality intrecciato bag for under $2000 is almost a miracle. The Miu Miu Large Woven Leather Tote is priced at $1295, and you'll get a whole lot of bag for that reasonable amount.
The design itself is so appealing. The pintuck pleats on the exterior panels as well as the grey/black leather combination used in the intrecciato pattern are sophisticated touches. The spacious 18 x 13 x 6 size provides this design with plenty of practical storage making it a chic work bag option. What I find even more surprising than the successful woven pattern and elegant color duo is the fact that the use of an adjustable buckled drawstring, which I would normally detest, lends a certain flair to the overall design. While the top handles might be a tight fit over larger upper arms like mine, the sheer beauty of the bag compensates for the slight discomfort of carrying such a large bag on the crook of the arm. Handle marks are a small price to pay for such a fabulous bag.
If you're as big a fan of the Miu Miu Large Woven Leather Tote as I am, you can purchase it via Net-A-Porter as soon as it comes back in stock (yes, of course it's sold out!).
