Malini Murjani Beth Bag

How time flies! It was nearly three years ago when I first wrote about a Malini Murjani bag. Back then I was completely taken with her retro-inspired Billeyette Clutch. The affordable design was just the sort of bag a young, urban sophisticate would carry for a night on the town. Now I'm enamored with yet another Murjani clutch and her name is 'Beth'.

A mesh (yes, mesh) exterior with whip snake trim and stud detailing come together in an odd, medieval sort of way creating one intriguing bag. The dawn (antique gold mesh and brown whip snake) is OK, but I prefer the dusk (gunmetal mesh, black whip snake) version. Both have a removable brass double chain strap if you care to carry it on the shoulder, but, in my opinion, this bag should be carried as a clutch. A white tank covered up with a tailored black jacket, a nice pair of black jeans and black booties would be the perfect outfit to accompany the Beth Bag on a stroll through the city. You can nab one for $395 via intermixonline in mid January.

Be sure to browse the rest of Malini Murjani's collection at malinim.com. Not all her bags are my personal cup of tea (as I'm sure many of our readers will agree), but some of her designs are genius and reflect her Indian heritage and world travels. Of particular interest is the Python Naya Tote (pictured) which boasts a generous size, sophisticated silhouette and $1650 price tag. That's a great price for an exotic bag, ladies. Keep it in mind.

LOVE the Maya Tote! How did they get their hands on a python that big? Look at those ginormous scales!
