See by Chloé Grasshopper Tote

Yesterday I wrote about the need to find more affordable designer bags, and how new labels are filling that void in the retail market. How can a label like YSL expect women to pay $1200 for nylon bag when there are more affordable options available? Well here is a perfect example of the very point I was trying to drive home to all of you.

See by Chloé is fashion label Chloé's sister collection. This moderately-priced line has evolved over the past couple of seasons, and the spring 2010 showing is their best grouping yet. The Grasshopper Tote is my favorite from their new designs. It's incredibly spacious, but still chic. Several pockets are available for additional storage including a large front, fold-over flap pocket with an interesting strap/lobster clasp closure. This unexpected detail gives the 'Grasshopper' an edge other large totes lack.

The best part of this black leather tote is its price. For $675, you can have the ideal everyday bag. Sure it's not YSL, but it's also not $1200. The See by Chloé Grasshopper Tote will fulfill your needs without breaking the bank, and you'll realize you don't need a bag with a famous name to make you happy. You only need a really good bag for that.

LOVE the black tote, but those cross body bags are not attractive. The elastic side pouches look slightly tumor-esque and cheap!

I agree. That's why I waited to feature the tote and not the crossbody bag. I'm not sure why they needed to add those elasticized side pockets when the tote gets it right in every way.

I thought I was going to get one of the new MARC spring totes, but I'm rethinking my purchase after seeing this bag.
