As someone who designed flowered handbags for over a decade, I'm very picky about flower detailing on bags, even from major couture houses. This clutch, using the newer washed and wrinkled leather that's been emerging for the last few seasons, has a nice, slightly hipper feeling to what can easily veer into 'old lady' territory. I prefer the washed gray to the nude leather version for the same reason.
One of my favorites from the Spring 2010 Valentino collection was this pretty soft oversized frame bag.
The lack of fine craftsmanship when it comes to embellished bags from couture houses often disappoints me, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this bag (another shot of the same oversized frame bag below). The lace detailing stitched into the leather is exquisite!
