The Chloé Paraty (our pick for 2009's best designer bag) is back for spring, and it couldn't look any lovelier than this. Light blue python is a feminine and sophisticated option for the upcoming season. The spacious Paraty, with its dual top handles and convenient shoulder strap, is available via net-a-porter.com for a hefty $3825. It'll certainly drain your bank account, but I can't think of a better reason to brown bag tuna sandwiches.

6 Responses to "New Arrivals Alert: Chloé Python Paraty"I am probably one of few that is NOT a Paraty fan. When I saw IRL I found it kind of heavy and bulky and with a little bit too much going on. Also, I require easy accessibility, like an outside pocket of some kind. Yet, this color is lovely. It is already sold-out on NAP. What economic recession????
LOVE this color! Thanks for keeping us updated Dania!
Gail, I agree with you about the bag being heavy, but it's not the first Chloé bag to be accused of that ;-) The first time I saw this bag IRL was on the arm of a 50-something yr old lady waiting outside a restaurant. She was carrying a black python Paraty, and I literally could not stop starring at it. The next week I high-tailed it to the stores and took one out for a spin. It was heavy, but it was a stunner. I'd give my right arm to get this exact bag. Sadly, my arm is not worth $3825 ;-)
One more thing... Have you seen the two-tone one on Saks.com in the "old pink" color? The color is very pretty. Imagine it in that color in python.
YES!!! I forgot to mention that one when I reviewed the Mavis bag a couple of weeks back. I have to say that I prefer the Paraty in python MUCH MORE than regular leather. It just lends itself to that skin.
As a general rule, croc and lizard work best on structured bags while snakeskin looks best on a relaxed bag. Without that flexibility, the python, in particular, would flake off too easily.
Well, at least we agree on how gorgeous these colors are.
Dania, I have to say that since I last posted, the Paraty in python is growing on me. Maybe I was tainted because I only experienced the leather version. I looked at the other colors on the Chloe website - all amazing (grey, ocean (which I think this one is) and milk. My guess is that the medium size really lends itself to a day to evening type of bag. I just wonder how versatile the blue or grey would be compared to black? If I would/could spend this much on a bag, I would want to use it A LOT!
